Dove Cottage and The Wordsworth Museum

William Wordsworth is Britain’s best-loved poet whose thoughts and writing about man, nature and society are so current they could have been written yesterday.

Discover Wordsworth’s amazing life by visiting Dove Cottage and exploring the riches of the Wordsworth Trust collection in the Museum.

Explore the traditional Lakeland cottage and home of the famous poet William Wordsworth and discover what life was like at the turn of the 19th Century. Dove Cottage was the first family home of Britain's greatest poet, William Wordsworth.
